A new Web site targeting the tea parties is a part of a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country’s biggest labor unions and trickling slowly into political slush funds for Democratic activists.
A seemingly grassroots organization that’s mounted an online campaign to counter the tea party movement is actually the front end of an elaborate scheme that funnels funds — including sizable labor union contributions — through the offices of a prominent Democratic party lawyer.
A close look reveals the APPC’s place in a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country’s biggest labor unions into political slush funds for Democratic activists.
Here’s how it works: What appears like a local groundswell is in fact the creation of two men — Craig Varoga and George Rakis, Democratic Party strategists who have set up a number of so-called 527 groups, the non-profit election organizations that hammer on contentious issues.
Varoga and Rakis keep a central mailing address in Washington, pulling in soft money contributions from unions and other well-padded sources to engage in what amounts to a legal laundering system. The money — tens of millions of dollars — gets circulated around to different states by the 527s, which pay for TV ads, Internet campaigns and lobbyist salaries, all while keeping the hands of the unions clean — for the most part.
The system helps hide the true sources of funding, giving the appearance of locally bred opposition in states from Oklahoma to New Jersey, or in the case of the Tea Party Web site, in Illinois.
Perhaps the 3 stooges had a better name for these folks Dewy, Cheatem and How

I would put money that this is a chess move to set up bad PR on the Republicans. Once again the mainstream media will play it out for their idealogs to make a mockery of any counter plan or opinion.

GMC and its divisions have 130 current recalls on its vehicles found at the site below. Why is it that Toyota is making front page news and not a word is spoken about the company that is now owned by the U.S. Government and is Toyotas main competitor?

If the American automakers would get their act together and stop producing crap vehicles they would get their market share back. British teacher was fired from his job after complaining that some of his Muslim students were celebrating the Sept. 11 hijackers as “heroes,” the Daily Mail reported.
Nicholas Kafouris, 40, who taught at East London’s Bigland Green Primary School for 12 years, is suing the school for racial discrimination after he was allegedly forced from his post because he would not tolerate the remarks of his students.
Kafouris claims members of his class, some as young as eight years old, openly praised Islamic extremists in his classroom, hailing the terrorists behind the attacks of Sept. 11 as “martyrs,” the Daily Mail reported.
Kafouris alleges the students told him they “want to be Islamic bombers when we grow up,” and “the Christians and Jews are our enemies, you too because you’re a Christian,” according to the Daily Mail.

Congressional aides are preparing to slog through an expected record $3.8 trillion in spending to be proposed by President Obama on Monday when his fiscal year 2011 budget is delivered to Capitol Hill.
One thing is for sure Obama makes Bush look like a rocket scientist. Cash for clunkers, bank bail outs that are repaid in a couple months, wasted money on useless projects, acorn funding, does it ever stop?

One of Britain’s most dangerous gangsters has been using Face book to threaten and intimidate his enemies from a maximum security prison.
Colin Gunn, an underworld godfather who ordered the execution of two grandparents, has been able to correspond freely with up to 565 “friends” on the social networking site for the past two months.
Gunn, who is serving a 35-year sentence for conspiracy to murder, is said to be still running his drugs and organized crime cartel from jail. He claims he was allowed to set up a Facebook account by prison governors, suggesting it was his legal right.
Critics believe the authorities may have turned a blind eye out of fear of receiving a legal challenge on human rights grounds.
Wow England is afraid of unplugging this guys computer because they fear it might violate his human rights? I bet Churchill and all other honorable Britt’s from the past are rolling over in their graves due to the wussies that are running the show there these days.

President Obama said in his first State of the Union address Wednesday night that he would work with Congress and the Pentagon this year to repeal the law that prohibits military members from acknowledging openly that they are gay.
At least one member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff — Gen. James Conway, commandant of the Marine Corps — has expressed reservations in the past about repealing the law.
In November, Conway said through a spokesman: “Our Marines are currently engaged in two fights, and our focus should not be drawn away from those priorities.”
Some Congressional opposition already is clear. Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, a former Navy pilot, released a statement after Wednesday night’s State of the Union address saying “it would be a mistake” to repeal the law.
“This successful policy has been in effect for over 15 years, and it is well understood and predominantly supported by our military at all levels,” McCain’s statement said, later adding: “At a time when our Armed Forces are fighting and sacrificing on the battlefield, now is not the time to abandon the policy.”
The United States Military is not a social experiment. It is not a democratic entity. Its a force designed to protect our country by being a deterrent in peace time and a killing machine in war. This President and the social talking heads need to leave the military alone to manage its internal arrangements itself.

“AP – Toyota’s suspension of U.S. sales on an unprecedented scale to fix faulty gas pedals deals a blow to the automaker’s reputation for quality and came amid intense pressure from the Obama administration.”
Could it be that the Obama administration now is the owner of GM?

How to fix Windows 7, Internet Explorer 8 when it keeps asking you for Flash Player from Adobe. First At the time of this writing there is no flash player for the 64 bit available. The good news is internet explorer 8 doesn’t need it.
I kept getting this message on my lap top and it wouldn’t play “you tube” movies or any kind of interactive portions of web sites. But my desk top with internet explorer 8 worked just fine. So here is the fix.
1. First go to a computer with Internet explorer 8 that is working properly go to any web site You Tube would be a good choice
2. Drag and drop from the sites address at the top of the page on to a thumb drive.
3. Put your thumb drive into the computer that has the Flash drive problem and drag and drop the link you created from the thumb drive to the desk top.
4. Double click on the desk top link you just created and launch the web site.
5. From your tools menu select internet options select use current for your home page.
6. If you have a short cut to the internet pined to the bottom of your desk top unpin it.
7. Now pin the link you created from your thumb drive to the bottom of your desk top.
8. Launch internet explorer from your desk top and it should work.

I would have never guessed in a million years that the democratic strong hold of Massachusetts, entrenched in left wing world views would have had the fortitude to slap the Congress and administration hard enough to change the political landscape. I applaud them. The health care reforms are too important to be rushed through in secret committees. Pushed on a time agenda instead of a quality agenda. A strong and good protest against their traditional party for the way that its leaders have done more harm then good and as of lately acted dramatically worse then the party they replaced in January 09. We truly have a great Country when political reality checks can be done with out violence. Thank you Massachusetts for stepping up to the plate and making your voice heard.

Have you noticed that people of faith typically give 10% of their income to Charities? They don’t receive any more from their employers to make this donation nor is there any government law requiring them to do so. What if… there were tax incentives for the health care industry to do something similar. For doctors to give 10% of their time and hospitals to give 10% of their resources? Would we still have the health care crisis we see today? Would not a minor tweak in the tax code be all that was require to handle the bulk of what is wrong with health care? Is there not a lawmaker with the wisdom to write tax code that effects and regulates those that give and receive this 10%?

The White House has reached a deal with health care negotiators, including labor unions, on taxing the high-level “Cadillac” plans.
State and local workers and union members are exempted until 2017. Labor leaders endorsed the deal Thursday.
What a bunch of POO if this is Constitutional I will eat my hat. So if you have a good insurance plan you will be taxed but a union member or government worker won’t and who probably makes more money to start with!!!!. This is some bad politics and back door bribery.
The definition of irony,” Michael Steel, a spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner, said in a statement Thursday. “Democratic leaders today emerged from a closed-door meeting to announce a backroom ‘deal’ on health care, then brag about the ‘transparent process.’”

The head of C-SPAN has implored Congress to open up the last leg of health care reform negotiations to the public, as top Democrats lay plans to hash out the final product among themselves. “Themselves” being only the Dems that see things their way and no Republicans are invited. It simply amazes me that something so important has to be rushed through and kept secret when a little more time could fix a lot what will be wrong with the current version.

This article was taken from the Huck Pac letter and pretty well sums up much of the wrong road this Administration and Congress are following.
1. TARP or as I like to call it the Congressional Relief Action Program – The money for TARP was so urgent that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and company didn’t add any transparency to the process and now we don’t know where much of the money went.
2. First Stimulus Bill – It stimulated spending in Democrat Congressional districts and created almost no new jobs.
3. Auto Bailout – Another bailout and another expansion of government.
4. ACORN – This corrupt organization was a favorite of House and Senate Democrats and well funded by their congressional patrons. Voters will remember.
5. Obama Czars – Special advisors to the President, circumventing the traditional Congressional confirmation process. The Obama administration’s widespread and deliberate use of “Czars” is a misuse of power and needs to be reined in.
6. CAP and TAX – Another massive tax increase on American families and small businesses.
7. Ben Nelson’s Payoff – Ben Nelson sold his health care vote to Harry Reid for $300+ million in lower taxes for Nebraska.
8. The $12 Trillion+ National Debt – Democrats in Congress spending money they don’t have. Mortgaging our children’s future.
9.Nationwide Unemployment rate at 10% – The Democrats are spending money like it’s going out of style and yet they are ignoring policies that would create new jobs.
10.The Government Takeover of Health Care – If the bill that comes out of Congress is signed into law, it will amount to a massive government expansion into our daily lives. It is the number one reason why Democrats should be defeated.

TAUNTON, Mass. – An 8-year-old boy was sent home from school and ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation after he was asked to make a Christmas drawing and sketched what appeared to be a stick figure of Jesus on a cross, the child’s father said Tuesday.
Chester Johnson said his son made the drawing on Dec. 2 after his second-grade teacher asked children to sketch something that reminded them of the holiday. The assignment came just days after the family had visited the holiday lights display at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, where Johnson said his son seemed taken with the religious statues he saw there.
Just think on easter he might draw something truly disturbing like an empty tomb.

If I were in Israel and some one wished me a Happy Hanukkah I would smile and return the greeting.
I would expect and be happy for all the merchants and government officials that were celebrating a prominent religion of their country.
If I were in Saudi Arabia and someone wished me a Happy Ramadan I would smile and return the greeting. I would expect and be happy for all the merchants and government officials that were celebrating a prominent religion of their country.
If I were in India and some one wished me a Happy Bakra Eid I would smile and return the greeting. I would expect and be happy for all the merchants and government officials that were celebrating a prominent religion of their country.
If I were in Vietnam and some one wished me a Happy Vesak Puja I would smile and return the greeting. I would expect and be happy for all the merchants and government officials that were celebrating a prominent religion of their country.
Even here if someone wished me a Happy Hanukkah I would smile and return the greeting. I would share with them that I am grateful to have Israel as a close ally. I would also share the group I belong to called Christians United for Israel that trys to support Israel in its daily struggles.
However in The United States we have come to the point that The President doesn’t mention Christmas in his Christmas cards, Many businesses don’t mention Christmas during their Christmas sales period. Any public display of Christmas is banned or protested in this so called free nation.
Seems like we, a nation founded by Christians. Our laws based on Biblical foundations, and we aren’t going to mention Christmas at Christmas. We live in a nation that is supposedly tolerant. I am tasked every day to tolerate near non stop profanity, the public promotion of perversion, the rottoness from Hollywood, and My own Mayor who is 50 a something year old male having sex with a 17 year old boy intern that worked for him. But we are not going to tolerate Christmas. Once again it seems tolerance is a one way street called censorship.
Seems pretty whacked.

The press is saying no big deal his sponsors won’t abandon him. This will all blow over no real consequence to his actions. Thirty years ago no product line or company would have stood to have their name associated with someone famous caught in adultry. How times have changed. The greed of the sponsers out weigh their morals. With Tiger going from Hero to Zero overnight as far as his true manhood is concerned.
Tiger Woods has truly failed in being a man.
In this day and age what is a man? Well it sure isn’t someone that cheats on his wife and risks his kids to humiliation. Hollywood would have us believe its about machismo. If that were true that would make every cocky ego freak or cruel male out there a man. Probably not the best choice for a stable society.
Basically, historically and traditionally stated a man is a man when they One, Recognize the responsibilities in their life. Two, Take charge of those responsibilities, and Three, Discharge those responsibilities in an honorable manner.
Easy statement to make but in that premise are countless nuances. To scratch the surface in this Readers digest version lets break down the 3 parts of what it takes to be a man.
The first part is to “recognize ones responsibilities in their life” This could be as simple as showing up for class on time or as complex as raising a family and running a business. It would also include such things as nurturing and protecting a wife and kids, paying bills, maintaining a household, studying instead of partying, running a department, leading a group, coaching a T-ball league. This list could go on for pages.
The second part “Taking ownership of those responsibilities” simply means to take charge of them in ones own mind. The mindset to think these are my responsibilities and they are mine to see them to completion.
The third part is to discharge those responsibilities in an honorable manner. That is to actually do what needs to be done with integrity.
I am old enough to remember when honor was still a part of the American culture. Do many today even know what it is? Honor is both an emotion and a behavior. It is something that has been part of the human condition for at least the last 5000 years of recorded history. As a behavior its acting with integrity, doing what is right even when no one is watching you regardless of the personal cost. As an emotion it exists in the middle between self worth and the sense of duty.
Discharging one’s responsibilities often times requires perseverance. It is the struggle thru life’s trials with perseverance that builds strong character. Character matters! Look at the mess with crime, politics, broken marriages, dishonest businesses and tiger Woods in this day and age. All are based on the break down of character within the individual. Only perseverance thru trials builds strong character. Who do we most admire most someone who has lifted themselves up by their boot straps through hardship or the spoiled rotten who had everything given to them on a silver platter?
One of the many stereotypical traits of modern manhood is that of leadership. What do we see today in the popular leaders? It seems greed, power, selfishness, ruthlessness, dominance, love of recognition and money define many of today’s popular leaders. This is a sad commentary of our times. Leadership has many faces. It can take the form of one person leading a small group science project at school. It could be that of leading one’s family at prayer before dinner or it could be a CEO of an international corporation. When we look at leadership through the three parts of being a man, to recognize, take ownership and the discharge of responsibilities a leader looks a lot different then we see in popular culture. We see a leader who protects and nurtures those people and institutions who are put in their charge. Some might even call this a “servant style” of leadership. Would you rather work for a boss who was stepping on you to make themselves look better or one who is dedicated to growing you and the business in an honorable manner?
Another stereotypical trait of what it means to be a man is strength. Not the popular muscle bound magazine type. Not the kind that abuses those they have responsibility for. It is the kind of strength that protects and endures hardship, to see their responsibilities are completed. To step forward when the innocent are threatened. To work double shifts when the family is in need. To not show weakness in front of a struggling family when the hardship has the family lean on you to be their rock. During those times of hardship share your weakness with a close male friend not your family. Be strong for them, don’t weaken or dash their hope.
What do modern supervisors and managers say of the males working for them? I hear many today do not take their responsibilities very seriously and supervisors say they are flooded by petty whining. It strikes me as odd that a man would whine. My Dad served in Germany during WW2, lived trough the depression and my Mom worked in a factory during that time as a “Rosie the Riveter” then went on to work in a hospital and had a long slow death with cancer. All through their lives I have no memory of them whining about their work or condition of their lives. One would think they probably did complain from time to time but it was not a daily deluge of petty whining.
Then there is the “balance of one’s life” The lesson of the life of Eli. We can take care of all our responsibilities at work and drop the ball with our families. That balance has to exist. As hard as it seems some times, family responsibilities that include nurturing and growth has to be attended to with the same vigor as the responsibilities at work.
One departing item. All admirable traits in the human character have been able to be perverted to where good is twisted to be evil and honor and manhood are no exception. Be sure to walk with integrity if you choose to walk as a traditional man.
Too bad Tiger didn’t figure this all out. Be man enough not to drop the ball with your family and life.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. They have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke and it was a leading cause of the financial collapse we are now living through.
War on Poverty started in 1964. They have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year. To support a failed program meant to help the poor which it now enslaves.
Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. They have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke. It is plagued with fraud and is so complicated that no one person understands it.
Freddie Mac was established in 1970. They have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke. It was also a leading cause of the financial collapse we are now living through.
The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. They had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure
The Department of Agriculture established in 1862 is so big that it’s Secretary, Tom Vilsack made a press announcement that he doesn’t’ know how many employees the agency has. But estimates are over 100 employees for every farmer in America.
There isn’t a single activity that the government does that can not be done more efficiently and at a lesser cost in the privet sector. With this in mind I stand against the Public option of the Health Care reform.

My Dad was in World War 2 he saw the threat to freedom coming form Germany and Japan. I served during the days of the Soviet Union and I saw them as the threat to freedom. But In the span of my fathers life through mine America has never seen what we as Americans understand freedom been so degraded as we see now during this modern time. Five major causes are eroding our freedoms in a way that we have never seen as a Nation.
The first is Political Correctness. Our current version of this is not about being civil and polite. It is about censorship. From the class room to our places of business One is hard pressed not be disciplined for wishing some one a Merry Christmas. Or to wear a button that says In God we trust. One can never profile even if the one being profiled was about to murder 13 people at Ft Hood. Political correctness has gone too far. We can not have freedom of speech and not have some folks be offended. The thin skinned are building a place to live where the government and lawyers are ready to punish those who dare speak their mind in public. The ACLU which was supposed to protect free speech has become one of the worst offenders in promoting censorship. Now that freedom of speech is gone we are heading down a slippery slope to even worse violations of freedom.
The second cause to the death of freedom is The lack of the individual to self control. We have become a nation of I and Me now. I want what I want and I am going to get it regardless of the cost because I think I deserve it. This lack of self control and integrity will bring on a police state faster then just about anything else. Look no further then your e mail, fraud, deception, and greed, its all waiting there. Its in your place of work where stealing from the company is considered normal. Its on Craig’s List. Its in the contractors you hire. Its in the people you meet everywhere these days. the bottom line is when enough individuals are present that can not police themselves we will quickly have a police state.
The third death stroke of freedom is the lack of individual responsibility. If every bad decision I make has to be someone else’s fault. Like buying more home then I can afford that must be the bankers fault , drinking to much and hurting someone must have been the bartenders fault. Being shot by a mugger must be the gun manufactures fault. How about not evacuating before a big hurricane comes and puts my house under water that must be the Presidents fault. How about if I spill a cup of coffee must be McDonalds fault. It goes on and on. Freedoms are lost here as activities are banned or no one will be able to afford the insurance to enjoy sports and other activities.
The forth death stroke is the “there ought to be a law” mentality. In the U.S. we now have over 60 million laws and regulations on the books. A mature and civil society could get by on just a few more then 10 simply written ones. There is now pretty much a law on just about everything. Sound like freedom to you?
The fifth and most important is the lack of fear. There is so little fear of God in our country. That anything goes regardless if it hurts children, families or even the individual themselves. People steal, they molest, lie, cheat, with out of any thought about God. This was not the case for the majority of Americans in our history. In my youth divorce was rare not so now. Property theft from the office to Wall Street is so common today its almost an epidemic. But hay if we are just a bunch of smarter monkeys that developed from pond scum I guess fearing God won’t matter in ones life that is until they draw their last breath and get to meet him. Once again if we can not control ourselves big government certainly will.
The next step to come in the death of freedom will be how we handle the new environmental laws about to be written. on one hand they could simply be tax code that will make very good investment sense to use new technologies to turn around the environmental path. However there a a lot of people out there that want this to be a power grab and use draconian laws and enforcement to force their wacky environmental agenda on the population.

Just when one thinks bad political decisions couldn’t get much worse. This weeks regular Friday Administration bombshell announcement takes it yet one more step in the absurd direction. Taking terrorists to New York for them to stand trial in a civilian and public setting has got to be one of the stupidest moves this administration has done so far. First to increase the security threat to New York doesn’t seem to bother this administration nor does the incredible cost to pull these trials off in a public setting. To give these scum a chance to mock our dead and our legal system which already gives them more rights then they grant their own people. Then to publicize their hate filled agenda and incite their followers to carry on the fight. This will become a huge propaganda event and the press will play it out like a circus. The press will make this a media frenzy and will plaster it all over helping our enemy and hurting our troops. I sometimes wonder who this administration is loyal too our troops or some perceived sense of utopian left wing thought. On another track for this subject as a pro capital punishment supporter in this case I think its a bad idea. It will only make martyrs out of these scum and add determination to their kind. It would be better for them and a hindrance to their cause to rot in prison for the rest of their lives. That is if the civilian court can even get a conviction. Evidence may have to be withheld due to security concerns and source protection. The bottom line was that Bush had this right. Gitmo and Military tribunals are the best way to deal with this issue.

Have you ever wondered about free will? It seems so self evident on the surface. As a lover of history I often wonder how free will and intervention from God works. Scripture makes it abundantly clear that people have the freedom to make their own choices. But God does intervene. I would like to leave this theory or possibly an allegory of at least one way to look at this issue. I don’t claim this to be right or wrong and I strongly doubt any human in this life will know for sure but take this as a possibility. Free will of an individual is like a path that comes to an intersection the individual makes a free will choice of which way to go. Now think of this path as the strands of a spiders web with each crossing strand of silk as an intersection of choice. As one looks across a life time of free will choices one would travel all over the spider web. How I would guess that God intervenes is that from the beginning of time he knew you will be at certain points on that spider web. I also believe that he tempers the heart of the individual to be more prone to make some biased choices. Such as the story of Pharaoh having his heart hardened. Or perhaps my own by having my heart softened. I hope this gives you something to think about and you get a chance to enjoy running through your own mind the possibilities of how else this aspect of the human condition exists. The only thing I am sure of is that this life and human history is not random chance.

If you enjoy trivia and history you may like this one. The term “to go the extra mile” was based on the Roman law that allowed Roman soldiers to enlist any civilian of a conquered land to carry his pack or burden one mile. This was a slap in the face for many of the people living in occupied lands. To go the extra mile came from the Sermon on the Mount. in Matthew 5 verse 41, where Jesus said “If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles” He was talking about the Roman soldiers who occupied Judea. So if you “go the extra mile” you are giving more of yourself to some effort or person that may be hostile to you. In This way you do not return insult for insult or eye for an eye. Thus trying to better live out the command to love even your personal enemies as you would love yourself as is stated on the Sermon on the Mount.

Arizona police are looking for an Iraqi man who they allege ran down his daughter and her friend because he believed his daughter had become “too Westernized.”
Peoria, Arizona, police said Wednesday that Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, struck his 20-year-old daughter, Noor Faleh Almaleki, and her friend Amal Edan Khalaf with a vehicle he was driving in a parking lot Tuesday afternoon.
Faleh Hassan Almaleki was angry with his daughter “as she had become too ‘Westernized’ and was not living according to the family’s traditional Iraqi values,” Peoria police said in a statement released Wednesday.
When in Rome do as the Romans do. Yes most of the U.S. social values are about the same level as sewage. It is sad when a child chases the current cesspool of U.S. and is damaged by it’s poor choice offerings. BUT trying to kill your own daughter because of it. That might be ok in Derka Derkastan but its unthinkable here and bad planning on the families part. If a family wishes not to be part of our culture or at least participate in the orderly and lawful change of culture then they should stay in their own country.

Marriage and War
I truly fear for Michelle Obama.
There are a great many similarities between marriage and war. Before people get married if they are an intelligent folk, will invest the time and effort to see if they should commit for the long haul. They should seek out good advice and weigh the circumstances of their present condition. Are all the issues in place that will allow for the kind of commitment a marriage takes? To stick through it during tough times, inconvenient times and unpopular times. Once all this debate and inner searching is done and it is decided that the marriage commitment should take place. Its time for the ceremony to make a public commitment. But wait there is one last statement be made before the rings are exchanged. The Preacher loud and clear asks all in attendance. “is there anyone here who has any reason this couple should not make this commitment in Marriage? Speak now or forever hold your peace.”
I would hope you could see the allegory here between marriage and war. Debate all we want before we commit troops but once the decision to commit them has been made any more debate simply backstabs the commitment and morale of the troops the same way it breaks the morale of a marriage. President Obama by tip toeing around our Afghanistan commitment because he feels its unpopular at the moment is hurting our troops more then the enemy does. That is why I fear for Michelle if her husband cant handle the heat of this war which is of great importance how can he handle the trials that will come in his marriage?

Never to diminish the pain you are going through now. These few words come from an older man who has seen much of life’s troubles. From job losses to watching family die to living in my car, divorce, death of beloved pets, illness and injuries. Yes, and many more of the troubles that are common to mankind. There has always been one activity that has helped me keep things in perspective. That is the simple act of giving thanks. When the tears of loss give way for a moment I have found great comfort kneeling and giving thanks for what I do have. When I was living in my car I gave thanks for its shelter from the weather and the ability to get around. Also thanks for the extra blankets to stay warm. When I lost my family to death’s hand I gave thanks for the time I had with them and know with great certainty that they are in the hands of a merciful God. When I lost my job I gave thanks for the opportunity ahead and the experience I had from it and the friends I made. When I lost my marriage I gave thanks for the lessons I learned and the chance to be a better man in the future. During illness and injury I gave thanks for the parts of my body that still worked. With each hardship, each painful experience the one relationship that got better and better is the one with God and his son Jesus. When times are good and easy which they will be for you again. When the time for morning has passed and the feelings of deep pain reduce to a dull ache Don’t forsake the relationship you developed with the one that helped walk you through the dark days.
May this time of trouble be short for you.

Obama wants to wait for a real Afghanistan government to be in place before sending the troops the commanders in the field say they need. How about a little war 101 lesson.
1. The military can only buy time and create the conditions for a political resolution to close out any conflict. The military doesn’t finish the conflicts but without them the politicians will not be able to get a foothold to move forward.
2.You can not control what you do not hold! Troops have to be on the ground to be able to keep order so a government can form and grow.
This congress that sent these troops over to do a job and the administration that took over this responsibility can not seem to make up their mind. The trend of treating our troops like police instead of soldiers so as not to upset anyone just gets more of our troops killed. We either do Afghanistan full blown and build up a local political power base that can take care of itself for the future or we piss around playing up to what keeps heat off the administration and loose troops which will finish the whole thing in defeat because we did not commit 100 % and dishonor those who already died in the mission so far. These talking heads learned nothing from Vietnam. The bottom line is debate, plan and decide to do the mission or not all you want before we commit troops but once we commit troops we support them and not stab them in the back by second guessing if the mission is worth it because after the first drop of American blood is spilled the mission is worth it.

Japans Nippon airways is asking passengers to use the restroom before boarding in order to reduce aircraft weight, and thus, fuel burn. How would you like to make that announcement in the boarding area? “Attention ladies and gentlemen would all 160 of you please now go to the bathroom and try to poop so we could save some money, thank you.” I wonder if there is a surcharge for toilet paper?

Residents’ outrage started when Jim Clausen, whose son is in the military and on his way back to Iraq, was told he couldn’t fly an American flag from the back of his motorcycle.
If he didn’t take the flag down, he was told he’d face eviction, the station reported on Monday.
Sharron White, a long-time resident, was originally told by management to take down the flag she’d flown on her car for eight years because “someone might get offended.”
“I just said to her, ‘They’ll just have to get over it,’” White said before the ban was lifted.
The ban had also applied to flag stickers on cars.
This kind of insanity is common here in “The Peoples Republic of Portland” I pray and hope your city doesn’t ever get the sick and twisted mentality of Portland.

The White House said the aid package signed Thursday provides $1.5 billion annually for economic and social programs.

It is sad that this nation is no longer wanting to acknowledge this historical moment. History is so incredibly important. Without a through study of it we condemn ourselves to making the same mistakes over and over. Some want to interpret the past through politically correct glasses which will require those same glasses to be changed every 20 years or so. I doubt 500 years from now that the politically correct generation will look at events the same way as their PC endeared do today. Judging the past is futile for the customs were often very different. Learning from the past is what is important. There is nothing in the human experience that has not already happened in the past. All the lessons are there to gain wisdom and guidance.

President Obama is the 2009 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize
Lets think about this for a moment.
If you had a new hire engineer fresh on the job for a couple of months would it seem odd to give then the engineer of the year award?
How about a new intern at a hospital would you award them the Doctor of the year award?
How was the last new hire you worked with who was new to your industry?
With this Nobel prize award I would say it truly reduces the significance of those who have received it from a lifetimes work.
Also worth mentioning this is the same group that gave Yasser Arafat the Nobel peace prize!
Here was an interesting part of the Yahoo headline article. “Aagot Valle, a lawmaker for the Socialist Left party who joined the Nobel committee this year, said she hoped the selection would be viewed as “support and a commitment for Obama.”
The secretive committee declined to say who nominated Obama. In Nobel tradition, nominations are kept secret for 50 years, unless those making the submissions go public about their picks.
In his 1895 will, Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go “to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses.”
The is a wonderful dream but it flies in the face of human nature. As long as humans are on this planet in our current nature there will be war. People will make war for greed, power, hate, revenge, to spread Islam, or a hundred other whacked reasons. Take this example, a private school with kids in matching uniforms well to do with all the luxury’s in life, being taught the very best of moral training. They will still divide up into clicks and find ways to hate the other groups. Spread that part of human nature out across the planet and there will always be war. Pray and work for peace but always be prepared for war.

Once again an entire group of people get to learn the socialist lesson of economics and human nature. Then it will do what all socialist countries do, start enslaving the population with a social tax burden that destroys the very economy that could pull them out of their doldrums. Colorado Man in Wheelchair Tackles Suspected Child Molester in Wal-Mart. Witnesses say a man sexually assaulted a young girl inside a Wal-Mart in Westminster on Sept. 19, picked her up and then tried to flee the store, KDVR FOX 31 TV reported.
Aulner, 22, was working at the Comcast table in the front when he heard the commotion. He tackled the suspect, 34-year-old Kevin Salyers, before he could escape and held him until cops arrived, he said Tuesday in an interview with KDVR.
“It was something that happened so fast, I didn’t even think about it,” Aulner told the station. “I’m not a hero, I just did what you’re supposed to do.”
Our society should do what it is supposed to be doing and make child molestation a capital crime. The repeat offender is so common today it is an embarrassment to our countries ability to protect the innocent.

Once again congress voted to send our troops in to do a job both Democrats and Republicans alike (per the procedures in the War powers act of 1973). We put our troops on the ground and start spilling American blood. The next thing you here are lawmakers and talking heads questioning if its worth it. Talk about back stabbing our own troops. Once these politicians decide to place our troops on the ground any back stabbing talk that effects the troops to see their job as necessary should be met with sharp rebuttals from the very lawmakers that voted to send them there in the first place. Along with the direct threats, Bin Laden also said
“Ask yourselves to determine your position: is your security, your blood, your children, your money, your jobs, your homes, your economy, and your reputation dearer to you than the security of the Israelis, their children and their economy?” (direct quote from his latest release)
So Bin Laden is saying that if we sell out innocent Israeli children and citizens to be slaughtered by his violent followers he will leave us alone.
I say to let any Innocent blood be held pray to the likes of these predators is to sell out all of humanity. It is the duty of any man or woman with even a hint of moral based honor to stand and protect the innocent reguardless of the costs to self. To do any less would be to simply give up being human and become an animal looking out for its own self intrest.

In a chilling forecast, the White House is predicting a 10-year federal deficit of $9 trillion — more than the sum of all previous deficits since America’s founding. And it says by the next decade’s end the national debt will equal three-quarters of the entire U.S. economy.

Yes, you read that right. Under an innocuous-sounding section titled “School-Based Health Clinics,” H.R. 3200 will authorize Planned Parenthood, as a “sponsoring facility,” to run a clinic during school hours on the grounds of public schools, with absolutely no accountability either to parents or school administrators.
Clinics would be accountable only to the Secretary of Health & Human Services, the radically pro-abortion Kathleen Sebelius, who was a fervent supporter of late-term abortionist George Tiller.
All this will be done at taxpayer expense. And unlike the rest of the bill, which isn’t slated to go into effect until 2013, these clinics are scheduled to go into schools next fall.
As you know, Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider and the most dangerous purveyor of the mythical “safe sex” message which has deprived so many American teens of their sexual innocence and left them with diseases and unwanted pregnancies

WASHINGTON – Taxpayers face losses on a significant portion of the $81 billion in government aid provided to the auto industry, an oversight panel said in a report to be released Wednesday.
The Congressional Oversight Panel did not provide an estimate of the projected loss in its latest monthly report on the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program. But it said most of the $23 billion initially provided to General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC late last year is unlikely to be repaid.
For many years GM, and Chrysler built some pretty poor quality vehicles. Vehicles that were worn out at 100K miles about half the life of their competition yet charged the same amount. Many of us who continued to purchase “American” vehicles felt betrayed by the very companies we wanted to support. Its no wonder GM and Chrysler have lost so much market share over the years. Now We the tax payers are betrayed again to boost up poorly run businesses

As far as Obama’s speech he should be as free as each citizen to speak what ever is on his mind. Just as the teachers should be able to do also. It is also never to early to teach children about discernment and to weigh the words said by any one for its validity and not follow thoughts and ideas drooling like much of the public does these days.
Know that I am not an Obama fan. Especially his promotion of abortion. I do however have respect for the office he holds. I also hold freedom of speech to be a vital pillar of our society. That freedom of speech which is very absent from public schools today. Teachers must be very careful what they are allowed to say or face being sued by the #1 censorship organization in the country, the ACLU. I would dare one to compare the censorship in public schools today with what the Soviets did back in their day.

In a union shop job assignments are given on the basis of seniority rather then skill and competence. A good allegory of this is first I go out and buy a bow and some target arrows then later I buy a deer hunting arrow the union way would demand that I use the target arrows first to hunt a deer because they were purchased before the hunting arrow. The same is true with job assignments the worker that can’t find his butt with both hands will be given the job over the skilled and dedicated worker every time based only on their hire date..

I will never claim to be an accountant but doesn’t it seem odd that many banks that were on the verge of collapse a couple of months ago have already paid back the Government bailout loans. I wish I could recover billions in losses in a couple of months. Good for the banks for sure. However the quick turn around from collapse to prosperity seems amazing for this layman.

Media Bias
Could there ever be a more blaring example of media bias then what we have witnessed recently. The media has gone out of their way to counter the lies and truth stretching against the Obama administration. Front page defenses in the national newspapers and headline news across the networks. Protect and spin the half baked truths and outright lies as they should. Yet these very same news outlets were silent when the same breed of whacko’s spread their lies about the Bush administration. Even the same topics are being treated differently. With Bush the education program No Child left behind was slaughtered in the press. Under Obama no bad word is spoken. Gitmo was hailed as one of the worlds worst offences under Bush. Under Obama The press spins it as the best of all the bad options available. Which it is and was when the Bush administration brought it online. It seemed even when Bush did something that was self evidently correct the press still spun it negatively. On the real whacked side some where near 30% of the public, around 9 million U.S. citizens believe the Twin towers were blown up by the CIA under Bush’s orders and the hijackers worked for Bush. Did you ever see a counter report on that? I sure hope that 100 years from now the folks writing the History books give credit where credit was do with the Bush administration. For no one living today was ever given un-spun news to develop a clear opinion on their own. Here in Portland (The Peoples Republic of Portland) Bush was blamed on the front page of our local newspaper if so much as one salmon died in a creek so remote the locals don‘t even know the location. In contrast our local paper drools over everything Obama does even the issues they criticized under Bush though no changes have been made.

Where are the Men?
Not to long ago I overheard a conversation my wife was having with a younger friend. This friend of hers is a very attractive 30 something, business owner and single. Her comment that struck me was that she found many “boys” to date but there weren’t any men. As I have inquired about that line of thought it seems to be a fairly common perception from both Ladies and business leaders.
So what exactly makes a boy or better stated a male become recognized as a man?
Hollywood would have us believe its about machismo. If that were true that would make every cocky ego freak or cruel male out there a man. Probably not the best choice for a stable society.
Basically, historically and traditionally stated a man is a man when they One, Recognize the responsibilities in their life. Two, Take charge of those responsibilities, and Three, Discharge those responsibilities in an honorable manner.
Easy statement to make but in that premise are countless nuances. To scratch the surface in this Readers digest version lets break down the 3 parts of what it takes to be a man.
The first part is to “recognize ones responsibilities in their life” This could be as simple as showing up for class on time or as complex as raising a family and running a business. It would also include such things as nurturing and protecting a wife and kids, paying bills, maintaining a household, studying instead of partying, running a department, leading a group, coaching a T-ball league. This list could go on for pages.
The second part “Taking ownership of those responsibilities” simply means to take charge of them in ones own mind. The mindset to think these are my responsibilities and they are mine to see them to completion.
The third part is to discharge those responsibilities in an honorable manner. That is to actually do what needs to be done with integrity.
I am old enough to remember when honor was still a part of the American culture. Do many today even know what it is? Honor is both an emotion and a behavior. It is something that has been part of the human condition for at least the last 5000 years of recorded history. As a behavior its acting with integrity, doing what is right even when no one is watching you regardless of the personal cost. As an emotion it exists in the middle between self worth and the sense of duty.
Discharging one’s responsibilities often times requires perseverance. It is the struggle thru life’s trials with perseverance that builds strong character. Character matters! Look at the mess with crime, politics, broken marriages and dishonest businesses in this day and age. All are based on the break down of character within the individual. Only perseverance thru trials builds strong character. Who do we most admire most someone who has lifted themselves up by their boot straps through hardship or the spoiled rotten who had everything given to them on a silver platter?
One of the many stereotypical traits of modern manhood is that of leadership. What do we see today in the popular leaders? It seems greed, power, selfishness, ruthlessness, dominance, love of recognition and money define many of today’s popular leaders. This is a sad commentary of our times. Leadership has many faces. It can take the form of one person leading a small group science project at school. It could be that of leading one’s family at prayer before dinner or it could be a CEO of an international corporation. When we look at leadership through the three parts of being a man, to recognize, take ownership and the discharge of responsibilities a leader looks a lot different then we see in popular culture. We see a leader who protects and nurtures those people and institutions who are put in their charge. Some might even call this a “servant style” of leadership. Would you rather work for a boss who was stepping on you to make themselves look better or one who is dedicated to growing you and the business in an honorable manner?
Another stereotypical trait of what it means to be a man is strength. Not the popular muscle bound magazine type. Not the kind that abuses those they have responsibility for. It is the kind of strength that protects and endures hardship, to see their responsibilities are completed. To step forward when the innocent are threatened. To work double shifts when the family is in need. To not show weakness in front of a struggling family when the hardship has the family lean on you to be their rock. During those times of hardship share your weakness with a close male friend not your family. Be strong for them, don’t weaken or dash their hope.
What do modern supervisors and managers say of the males working for them? I hear many today do not take their responsibilities very seriously and supervisors say they are flooded by petty whining. It strikes me as odd that a man would whine. My Dad served in Germany during WW2, lived trough the depression and my Mom worked in a factory during that time as a “Rosie the Riveter” then went on to work in a hospital and had a long slow death with cancer. All through their lives I have no memory of them whining about their work or condition of their lives. One would think they probably did complain from time to time but it was not a daily deluge of petty whining.
Then there is the “balance of one’s life” The lesson of the life of Eli. We can take care of all our responsibilities at work and drop the ball with our families. That balance has to exist. As hard as it seems some times, family responsibilities that include nurturing and growth has to be attended to with the same vigor as the responsibilities at work.
One departing item. All admirable traits in the human character have been able to be perverted to where good is twisted to be evil and honor and manhood are no exception. Be sure to walk with integrity if you choose to walk as a traditional man.
