NOAA Windsurfing / Kitesurfing songs

Five   NOAA   songs…….. a few beers first helps

Do you remember the Kinks song named LoLa?  Have you ever been frustrated by a NOAA forecast?  If you can keep the lyrics to LoLa in your head long enough to enjoy this  twist of the song then  follow along and just maybe  enjoy a smile.

I met her on the web where the downloads are slow where you drink starbucks and it taste just like hot gravel cola

C O L A ….. cola

She came  on the screen and offered  a glance

I asked her  her name and dark blue text she wrote NOAA

N. O. A. A.   noaa No No No na Noaa

Well I’m not the worlds most practical guy but when she said wind at the coast I nearly lost my mind

Oh my  noaa No No No na Noaa

Well I’m not dumb but I can’t understand why she says there’s wind and I’m left sitting on the sand.

Oh My Noaa No No No na Noaa

We’ll I drank all night and slept in my car trusting in her cast there would be wind near the bar

Oh my Noaa No No No na Noaa

Well I’m not the worlds most passionate guy

But when I looked at the cast I nearly fell for my Noaa  No No No na Noaa

I Pushed her away . I fell to the floor. I got down on my knees

I looked at her and she at me

That’s the way that I want it to stay you drive to the coast or you ‘ll see no spray

Oh my Noaa No No No na Noaa

Highs will be Highs and lows will be lows

It’s a mixed up , muddeled up shook up world except for Noaa No No No na Noaa

Well I left Pistol just the week before and I never seem to get wind any more.

But Noaa smiled and took me by the hand she said  little boy gonna make you drive again.

Well I’m not the most masculine man but I say what I mean and mean what I say.. not like Noaa No No No na Noaa

Fifty ways to leave Hood River

By Paul Simon
“The problem is all inside your head”, Noaa said to me
The answer is easy if you take it logically
I’d like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be fifty ways to leave Hood River
Noaa said it’s really not my habit to intrude
Furthermore, I hope my forecast won’t be lost or misconstrued
But I’ll repeat myself at the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways to leave Hood River

Fifty ways to leave Hood River
Just put your sails in a stack, Jack
Load up the van, Stan
It’s the crowds that destroy, Roy
Just get yourself free
It might be in a VW bus, Gus
You don’t need to discuss much
North winds are the key, Lee
And get yourself free

She said it grieves me so to see you in such pain
I wish there was something I could do to make you shred again
I said I appreciate that and would you please explain
About the fifty ways to leave Hood River

She said why don’t we both drive to the coast tonight
And I believe in the morning you’ll begin to see the light
And then there were real waves that made me see she was right
There must be fifty ways to leave Hood River

Fifty ways to leave Hood River

Its about Pistol Rock, Doc
Or Florence Jetty, Eddy
How about Manzaneta, Rita
Just get yourself free
Don’t forget Oceanside, Clyde
You don’t need to discuss much
Just load the van, Stan
And get yourself free

George Thorogood – came out to the Oregon coast to wave sail and was inspired to write a new song which will be added to the others in the files section of this web site.

George Thorogood brings you I Drink alone… (sail )

I sail alone, yeah
With nobody else
I sail alone, yeah
With nobody else
You know when I sail alone
I end up swimming be by myself

Every morning just before breakfast
I don’t want no coffee or tea
Just me and my Noaa weather radio
That’s all I ever need

Because I sail alone, yeah
With nobody else
Yeah, you know when I sail alone
I end up walking by myself

The other night I laid sleeping
And I woke from a terrible dream
I broke a mast near the outside
And the sharks looked like a team

And we swam alone, yeah
With nobody else
Yeah, you know when I swim alone
I prefer to be by myself

The other day I got invited to a party
But I went sailing instead
Just me and my pal Gray finned Whitey
And his brothers  tooth and grim

And we sailed alone, yeah
With nobody else
Yeah, you know when I sail alone
I  end up swimming by myself

My whole family done give up on me
And it makes me feel oh so bad
The only one who will hang out with me
Is Whitey and I think he’s mad

And we swim alone, yeah
With nobody else
Yeah, you know when I swim alone
I prefer to be by myself

These Booties Were Made For Walking

Noaa kepps saying you got some-waves for me

Ohhhh The Forecast

You’ve been sailing where you shouldn’t have been a sailing                                           and now someone else is gettin’ all the best.

These booties are made for sailing, but that ain’t what they do
these days these booties are walkin and its makin me mighty blue.

Rotton timing and theres a swim                                                                         lets hope thats just a…………….. dolphin fin

These booties are made for sailing, but that ain’t what they do
these days these booties are swimming and its makin me mighty blue

Now the gear’s a mile down the beach                                                                          with this wind it’d be a terrible reach

These booties are made for sailing, but that ain’t what they do
these days these booties are walkin and its makin me mighty blue

That last wave just closed out…….  I cant see in all the foam.                          Perhaps it would have been best to have stayed at home

These booties are made for sailing, but that ain’t what they do
one of these days these booties are going to be sailing like their supposed to do

Are you ready booties? Start walkin’!
